Pikanoa and its "Wall of Possibilities"

Historic site and monument, Historic patrimony, Fresco/wall painting, Street art in La Giettaz
  • Beware, a storm of colors and graphic vibrations with this fresco that might knock you off your feet! The talented Pikanoa has struck again on the school wall during the last Val d'Arly Street-Art Festival! Come admire it!

  • In the courtyard of the La Giettaz-en-Aravis school, Pikanoa unleashes a storm of color, a shockwave that pierces the wall and opens it up to an infinite range of creativity.

With a stroke of spray paint and a brush, she carves a rift in the everyday, a breach to elsewhere, a call to adventure. In the courtyard of the La Giettaz-en-Aravis school, Pikanoa unleashes a storm of color, a shockwave that pierces the wall and opens it up to an infinite range of creativity.

With a stroke of spray paint and a brush, she carves a rift in the everyday, a breach to elsewhere, a call to adventure. A graphic fever spreads there, carried by pop art, geek culture, and the raw energy of street art. But beyond the image, a quest for connection emerges: for her, painting is about animating, sharing, and giving spaces a particular vibrancy.

A leading figure in the video game world, trained at Les Gobelins and the Boule school, this performance artist possesses a singular vision of a world where reality and imagination intertwine seamlessly. Her work captures the effervescence of youth and the creative impulse that runs through it. She questions transmission, the way the collective imagination shapes memories and the construction of the self.

Integrating their vision, their gestures, their dreams, she creates a dialogue between herself and those who grow up in front of the fresco. She triggers a flow of energy. Intense blue, vibrant pink, sharp orange: the whole bursts forth like a cry in the whiteness of the Alps.

The mountain is there, but it is no longer immutable. Its taut, oblique lines seem to tear it away from the postcard image to reveal its raw, wild, untamed vitality.

At the heart of the scene are two figures. Skiers, adventurers? We don't really know. Masked, protected, they face us, frozen in a suspended moment, their eyes fixed on us. Perhaps an allegory of youth, projected towards a dreamed future, ready to hurtle down the slope of a story yet to be written.

Then, animals appear. A sled dog, a feline with golden eyes. Traveling companions, wild alter egos, they embody this tension between humans and nature, between freedom and domestication. Pikanoa doesn't just draw brilliantly: she constructs narratives, weaving links between the land and our imagination.

She brings everything she loves to it: speed, intensity, fantasy, bold colors. But above all, she electrifies this familiar place, re-enchanting it. This school wall is no longer just a school wall: it peels away, opens, becomes a passageway. It is now a springboard, an invitation to grow... freely, without limits.
