Expert Ride : Aravis Prologue

  • Two short, fairly rolling passes to kick off the week: Croix Fry and Marais. You can then enjoy the peace and quiet of the country route to Les Rippes, lined with fruit trees. You will then complete the route via Héry to Ugine.

  • You will be accompanied by instructors who hold the BE cycling certificate. Assistance and follow car will be on the program.
    Meeting at 8.15 am, for a departure at 8.30 am.

    No major difficulties on this route.
    Ascent of the Col de la Croix Fry, on the La Clusaz side, with no steep...

    Departure from La Giettaz -Col des Aravis - Col de la Croix Fry - Col du Marais Les Rippes - Ugine - Héry sur Ugine - Flumet - La Giettaz: 74km/1980m+.

    * Difficult sections :
    No major difficulties on this route.
    Ascent of the Col de la Croix Fry, on the La Clusaz side, with no steep sections but a final stretch of more than 3.5 km at 7-8% (with a small, life-saving flat at the end of a long hairpin bend).
    Then on to the Col du Marais, a 6.8-kilometre climb with a positive difference in altitude of 220 metres. The average gradient is 3.2%, so it's still a very easy pass.
    The final climb will be the côte d'Héry to Ugine, with 500 metres of ascent to reach the summit at 1030 m.

    The organisation reserves the right to modify the routes according to the weather conditions and other unforeseen events.

    All participants must provide proof that they are fit to practise cycling.
    Each participant must have a medical certificate that proves their ability to cycle that dates from 2024 or no longer than one year ago.
    No registration will be taken into account if the file is incomplete.
