  • This day trip around Lake Geneva will be full of rich and varied surprises. It will take you on a journey between the current day and the past, between Geneva, which is a very modern city with a rich history, and Yvoire, a complete immersion in the Middle Ages.

  • Departure from Arêches and Les Saisies, following the Val d’Arly in the direction of Geneva : a city set against a backdrop of lake and mountains. After a drive alongside the lake, taking in the star feature of the Rade – Geneva’s giant water jet which reaches a height of 140m – you will have a short break at the Place des Nations, in front of the “Broken Chair” sculpture before heading for the old town, dominated by the cathedral of St-Pierre, centre of the Reformation. Departure from Arêches and Les Saisies, following the Val d’Arly in the direction of Geneva : a city set against a backdrop of lake and mountains. Spend a while wandering through the little streets in the vicinity, each of them with a story to tell of Geneva’s history. One whole street is given over to luxury brands and big fashion names.
Free time for lunch (not included in price) then it is off to Yvoire. This medieval village dates from the beginning of the 14th century, sitting on the French side of Lake Geneva and known as the Pearl of the Lake, it is listed as one of the Plus Beaux Villages de France and in the summer is bedecked with flowers; its ramparts, fortified gates and impressive 14th century château reflect the village’s 700 years of history. You can wander through the heart of the fortified village itself, discover little shops and pretty alleyways that lead down to Lake Geneva, surrounded by the old stones that just beg to tell the story of Savoie’s history. Yvoire is a magical place that combines authenticity and history. It is a place where time stands still…
