  • Traditional festival in the heart of the village: cheese-making, crafts, musical entertainment with Mandoaccord, alphorns and Magalie, yodeller, visit to the museum, film "Les Marmottes", wood workshops, mountain meal, Savoyard pancakes, refreshment bar.

    - All day: Wooden games and colouring in a "mountain atmosphere" with Amélie, resort activity leader
    - All day: Cow fishing and Reblochon bingo organised by the Ski-club

    HIGHLIGHTS
    From 10.30am: Woodcarving demonstration with Aferdita Marot
    Originally from Monté Negro, Aferdita MAROT has been a professional woodcarver since 2001. A lover of nature, she carves animals as well as the flora of our mountains.

    10.30am: Herd dog demonstration
    Come and discover the amazing work of Damien Perillat and his dog Tadej, who has an instinctive ability to control the sheep's movements.

    11.00am: Making Tomme de Savoie and presentation of cow breeds
    Thomas Bouchex, a young farmer from the Chalet Blanc mountain pasture, will talk you through his daily work making Tomme de Savoie cheese. Thomas will tell you all about the different breeds of cow.

    From 12.00: Musical entertainment with MandoAccord
    This duo is the fruit of a musical dialogue between two musicians from different but complementary worlds. One comes from swing musette and jazz, Jean-Robert Chappelet (accordionist), the other from bluegrass, François Louwagie (mandolinist and singer). They brilliantly perform compositions and works from the repertoire of musicians who have made their respective instruments famous. MandoAccord sails through different musical styles: Swing Musette, guingette, tango, classical, Cajun, Jazz, Gypsy, Celtic.

    1.30pm: Herding dog demonstration

    2.00 pm: Reblochon cheese-making and presentation of cow breeds
    Come and watch young farmer Thomas Bouchex at work on the Chalet Blanc mountain pasture. After milking, the cheese must be made with warm milk. This method of production helps to preserve the cheese's distinctive flavour and creamy texture! Thomas will introduce you to the two main breeds of mountain cow.

    2.00 pm - 5.00 pm: Children's wood workshop with Aferdita MAROT
    Aferdita Marot, a passionate woodworker, will be delighted to demonstrate her talents and introduce children to the art of woodworking in a creative workshop: something to inspire everyone....

    2.00 pm - 5.00 pm: Visit to the museum
    Presentation of traditional Savoyard housing, the woodworking workshop and the snow theme with skis, sledges and bobsleighs.

    2.45pm: Traditional Alpine horn music with "Alpicors".

    3.30pm: Nature film - Screening of a film on the fauna of our mountains
    Documentary on the fauna and flora filmed in La Giettaz and the surrounding area, where you can admire marmots, ibexes, golden eagles, etc.

    3.30pm: Traditional Alpine horn music with "Alpicors

    4.00 pm to 5.00 pm: Musical entertainment with MandoAccord

    4.30pm: Ciné-nature - Screening of a film on the fauna of our mountains

    5.00 pm: Concert by Magali, the Aravis yodeller

    CATERING POINT
    All day long:

    - Refreshment stands organised by the Parents' Association, the Ski Club and "On s'Giett ensemble".
    - Snacks organised by the Ski-club association (sweet and savoury crêpes, etc.)
    - Sale of bugnes organised by the AEPG
    - Sale of waffles organised by the Maison Paroissiale association

    From 11.45am :

    - Mountain meal hosted by MandoAccord
    Come and enjoy a traditional meal with us, to the sound of the accordion and mandolin. Menu: Tartiflette + salad + apple pie

    To get to the festival site in the village of La Giettaz, think of the FREE Nature Shuttles!
    Parking in the village will soon be saturated.
    5 possible rotations departing from Flumet and/or the Col des Aravis.
