François Place

François Place, with his three medals (gold, silver and bronze) in the Skicross World Cup, is the symbolic figure of the resort of Crest-Voland / Cohennoz!
He started his career in alpine skiing and then drifted towards skicross and became world champion in 2019.

It is a resort that welcomed me as a child. I am still a member of Crest-Voland ski club, and the resort of Crest-Voland has given me a lot, both as a person and an athlete ... So I'd like to thank everyone in the resort!

His track record

His specialty is SKI CROSS
The 31-year-old Frenchman won his third medal in three appearances at the World Championships in 2021, and completed his collection after bronze in 2017 in Sierra Nevada (Spain) and gold in 2019 in Solitude (USA). He now has as many podiums at World championships as he does at World Cups.

Its history

Born in 1989 in Albertville, he joined the ski club “La Gentiane” of Crest-Voland / Cohennoz in 1996, at the age of 7. He then joined the French ski team in 2009, as an alpine skier. He stayed almost 10 years in this discipline before joining the ski cross, in 2016.

It is thanks to this initiative that he won the world championship, with a 3rd place in 2017, then a 1st place in the United States in 2019, and finally a second place in 2021!
